Questions

What is The SofTap® Hand Method?

Unlike modern body tattoos, SofTap® brand permanent makeup is implanted by hand, using only disposable hand tools. This method is gentle, noiseless, non-invasive, and provides the most natural look in permanent cosmetics. Compared to the perpendicular angled rotary gun method, the diagonal angle from which the pigment is applied to the dermis by hand is less likely to damage and scar the tissue. A talented artist with gentle hands designs your cosmetics exactly as you want them, down to the tiniest point of color before beginning. During the procedure, SofTap® tools are dipped in hypoallergenic pigment and gently tapped throughout the area according to the design.

How painful is it?

Topical anesthetic is applied throughout the procedure to keep you comfortable. If you are more sensitive than most, just let us know, and we’ll slow the application process, and apply more topical. SofTap® is so gentle—some of our clients actually fall asleep during the procedure.

What about recovery time?

Typical healing time is 5-7 days. To expedite the healing process, we’ll provide you a post treatment ointment RecoverAll. It immediately traps the color into the skin, soothes any irritation, and instantly begins the healing process. You’ll want to continue applications every 2-3 hours for the first few days, and as needed after that. Your second “perfecting appointment” will be scheduled about 6 weeks after the initial application. It’s normal to expect 20%-50% fading to occur from the initial results once healing is complete.

How long does it last?

While there are no guarantees when dealing with so many variables and different skin types and lifestyles, clients usually want a re-touch every 1-3 years. We offer loyalty pricing for our returning clients.

What can I do to ensure the best possible outcome?

It’s definitely recommended to avoid any alcohol, caffeine, and/or supplements with blood thinning affects (no Diet Sodas, no Turmeric). If you use eyelash or eyebrow growth enhancing serums, avoid these for the 3-5 days prior to your appointment. For eyeliner clients, stop using moisturizing eye cream 24 hours before your appointment. Some of our clients have even used anti-anxiety/calming supplements the day of.
